The Periodic Table of Elements:
Recently we have been studying the periodic table of elements. We have done several activities such as "Create a Table" and others. We have learned many things about the arrangement and why the elements are placed in their certain spot. There are different types of elements on the table that belong to different groups, or columns. These include metals, nonmetals, metalloids, Alkali metals, Alkaline metals, Halogens, Nobel Gases, and transition metals. They are put in their places for many reasons, one being that from left to right their atomic number gets bigger and two being that for the most part their atomic mass increases from top to bottom and left to right as well. This basically points to the idea that they are arranged by their properties. There are a few odd elements that don't quite fit such as Hydrogen and Helium.
